OUR FAMILY

Both staff and students at Kutta Mulla Gorinna Special Assistance School are integral parts of our family. From Junior to Senior Secondary, we prioritize creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every individual feels valued and encouraged to excel in their academic and personal pursuits.

JUNIOR SECONDARY

In years 7 to 9, we’re dedicated to keeping our students excited about learning with a curriculum that’s interesting and meaningful. We aim to provide just the right balance of challenge and assistance to help them grow. During these years, students will continue to expand their knowledge in subjects like:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Health & Physical Education
  • The ARTS
  • Technologies
  • Languages

SENIOR SECONDARY

As students enter Year 10, they begin a three-year adventure towards earning their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), all the while exploring and celebrating different cultures.

In Year 11, students have exciting subjects to choose from as they start planning their paths toward university, TAFE, or starting their careers.

By Year 12, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, pushing themselves to excel in their studies and pursue areas they’re passionate about.

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING PATHWAYS

Our Alternative Learning Pathway Program is designed with flexibility and personalised attention in mind. It’s there to help students who might find our KMG classroom settings a bit challenging. The goal is to give each student additional support they need to succeed academically, grow personally, and be well-prepared for whatever comes next, whether it’s more learning or entering the workforce.

Objectives:

  • To offer personalised learning experiences tailored to the unique needs, interests, and strengths of each student.
  • To provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic engagement, social-emotional development, and self-confidence.
  • To help students overcome barriers to learning and successfully progress towards graduation or alternative pathways to further education and employment.
  • To promote collaboration and partnership between schools, families, community organisations, and other stakeholders to enhance student support and success.

ENROLMENTS

Obtaining an Expression of Interest Form

During your contact with the Administration office, you will be provided with an Expression of Interest Form. This form serves as the initial step in expressing your interest in enroling your child at our school.

Initial Assessment by the Student Support Officer

Once you have submitted the Expression of Interest Form, our Student Support Officer will review your application. They will then make contact with you to discuss the availability of a place for your child. If a place is not immediately available, you will have the option to be placed on our Waiting List.

Notification of Vacancy and Interview

When a vacancy arises in your child’s year level, you will be promptly notified by our team. You will then be invited to attend an interview with your child. During this interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s educational needs and goals with our staff. Additionally, you will be required to complete an Enrolment application form.

Completion of Enrolment Process

Following a successful interview and completion of the Enrolment application form, your child’s enrolment at Kutta Mulla Gorinna Special Assistance School will be finalised.
